Frank Lampard has reportedly been offered £140,000 a week by Chelsea and still he wants more.
That's £7,280,000 a year. When you think that if someone worked from the age of 18 to 65 and earned a very generous average of £30,000 a year, they would earn £1,410,000 in their entire working life.

Leader of the footballers union, Gordon Taylor, and others in the game, say these players deserve the big salaries because they have a relatively short career in the game. Come on! When they can be earing over 5 times as much a year as what most will earn in a lifetime. The greed of these players grows and grows, demanding big money, taxes paid, cars, big houses and more. While people moan about the pittance they earn and then trot along like simpletons every Staurday of the season, paying exorbitant entrance fees to watch these overpayed and overrated ponces, dance about kicking a ball, and even the balls are soft these days.

Before anyone asks, yes I do like football. No I don't pay to go and watch it. I do believe there should be a worldwide maximum wage and a maxium transfer fee. Let's start and put the sport back into sport. It's not only footballers, it's everywhere in sport, greed, greed, greed!!!!! From gold bars for winning athletes, to big appearance money for playing for your country. That used to be a privilege!

Oh dear, let's not forget, poor Ronaldo. He after all is a modern day slave. And people moan when our GP's are paid £100.000 a year for looking after our health and well being. Get real folks!!!!!

One day enough people may come to their senses and the football stadia will be ringing with the sound of emptiness on a Saturday afternoon. Until then we will continue to get theses pampered prima donnas. It's nearly August all you footie fans, save up the pennies, cos your gonna need much more this season to see your team play!

We in the UK must be the softest touch in the world. We take in all the dregs on humanity from around the globe, pay the benefits, give them housing and God knows what else. They drain our Economy, when honest, decent citizens struggle to pay their way and those who come to these shores with a genuine fear for their lives if they go home, are deported.....Makes sense, doesn't it?

Our Utilities are increasingly controlled by foreign companies, who charge us some of the highest tariffs in Europe. We become more and more dependant on oil and gas originating in countries of the former Soviet block, many with unstable Governments and Brown trots off to Riyadh, cap in hand, on bended knee pleading with the camel jockeys to raise oli outputand then tries to get them to fund building of new Nuclear power plants in the UK.....smart move Gordon!!!

House prices continue to fall, jobs are being lost, prices are rising, millions of Taxpayer pounds are being wasted in Afghanistan and Iraq, but don't worry folks, we are in safe hands.

I will be the first to admit, back in 1997 I voted Labour. Let's face it, most of us who were eligible to vote then did. After Thatcherism and all the sleaze of the Tories, Blair's labour seemed a breath of fresh air. 11 years down the line, how wrong we were. The rich poor gap widens, the private sector has it's stcky fingers in just about everything and in real terms, who is truly better off?

Brown may blame the cueent Global financial woes for his problems and the countries difficulties, but he was there balancing the books for 10 years, telling us how good thing were, how strong the country was financially under his stewardship. Sure it was, that's why it's buckling more and more each passing day. He wants us to believe he is in control and he is listening to us....BULLS**T!!!!! He shows no control, just arrogant stubborness on issues like 42 day detention for terrorists. He masterminds the introduction of more backdoor stealth taxes and quickly turns a deaf ear when people protest againt the abotition of the 10p tax rate, increased vehicle road tax and tells us the Government doesn't make more money out of increased fuel prices.

We are but a few months from Winter, cold, damp, less daylight, which means, heating on, light on more, bigger meals required. All I can say is, stockpile with candles, get a large supply of good books to read and shop at Netto, if you can afford that. 2008? nah, 1908 more like. Maybe we will get the gaslights back to go with it. I don't think so though, not with the current price of gas!

The country in safe hands Mr Gordon Brown? All I can say is, God help us when we are in unsafe ones!!!!!
